Product Description
LNG storage tanks, namely liquefied natural gas storage tanks, are specialized equipment designed for storing liquefied natural gas (LNG). Liquefied natural gas is produced by cooling natural gas from a gaseous state to a liquid state at approximately -162°C under standard atmospheric pressure.
Since the volume of LNG is much smaller than that of gaseous natural gas, it is convenient for storage and transportation. LNG storage tanks play a crucial role in the energy sector and are widely used in natural gas refueling stations, industrial gas supply, and urban gas peak shaving, among other fields.

Main Applications
Core equipment of LNG receiving terminals
Large storage tanks (100,000-270,000 m³) are used to receive shipborne LNG, serving as "buffer reservoirs" for imported natural gas. The LNG is then converted into gaseous natural gas through vaporizers and transported to the pipeline network (e.g., China Guangdong Dapeng LNG Receiving Terminal, with a storage tank capacity of 160,000 m³).
Urban gas peak shaving and emergency reserve
Medium and large storage tanks (10,000-50,000 m³) supplement supply during the winter gas consumption peak or serve as emergency gas sources in case of pipeline failures (e.g., urban LNG peak-shaving stations in Beijing and Shanghai).
Industrial and power generation fuel storage
Industrial kilns in steel, ceramics, etc., use LNG as a clean fuel, with supporting medium-sized storage tanks (500-5,000 m³). Gas-fired power plants ensure continuous operation of units through stable gas supply from storage tanks.
Fuel supply in the transportation field
Energy supply in remote areas
In areas without natural gas pipelines (e.g., islands, mining areas), LNG is stored in small storage tanks (10-100 m³) and vaporized to meet residential/industrial gas demand (e.g., the LNG energy storage station in China's Xisha Islands).
